My name is Carol Hansson. This is the story how I took a getaway car to be able to attend Eras in Vancouver. My flight was set to leave Prince George, British Columbia, about a one and a half hour flight from Vancouver, on Thursday, December 5. The flight was delayed,, and delayed, and delayed, and finally cancelled at 12:15 AM on December 6, I had tickets to all three of Taylor’s shows In Vancouver. The rescheduled flight would have had me in Vancouver just in time for my very last show, on Sunday. Being that I absolutely had to be able to attend both my first and second shows, I decided to approach a bunch of Swifties in Eras gear at the airport. “Hey! Why don’t we rent a car and drive down to Vancouver?” Thus the “Getaway Car” was born. We were able to rent a car for a one-way trip and hopped in for our nine-hour drive. We had four Swifties and one non-Swiftie — we played Taylor the entire way and shared lore, Easter eggs and why we loved Taylor with the non-Swiftie. I firmly believe that we were able to convert the non-Swiftie by the end of the day. We made it to Vancouver with more than enough time to attend our concerts. This is the perfect example of a the magic of Swifties, or what I call Swiftie dust. I hope this page and the stories that reside here will bring you joy.

Alex’s story

When the Eras tour started in 2023, I had recently found out I was pregnant. I was over the moon, except for the fact that, due to circumstances with my now ex-husband, i was sleeping on my parents couch. I spent almost my entire pregnancy staying at my parents without him by my side. I started watching the livestreams, because, while pregnancy is supposed to be the best time of your life (so I’ve been told), I was experiencing the complete opposite. However, the livestreams brought me so much happiness and made me not feel so alone. Fast forward to October of last year…i had my son! And after 2 weeks, i was leaving my husband. I was heart-broken, but knew it was the best thing for my child and i— so back to my parents house I went. Over the course of the last year, the Era’s tour (and Taylor) has healed me in ways i could never have imagined. Because of Taylor, the Eras tour, and TTPD, I was able to tap into creativity I didn’t know I had and I started my own Etsy shop making fan-made merch. Throughout this journey, I entered into a partnership with another Swiftie who hosted several events in California. What started as me donating prizes for her to giveaway has turned into an amazing friendship, and one I needed desperately. The Era’s tour healed me from a heartbreak I didn’t deserve and connected me with so many amazing people who I am so thankful to call my friend today.
